What this portfolio x-ray does

You may own five mutual funds and still be making one big bet without knowing it. This tool x-rays your funds down to the individual stocks and adds up your true combined exposure, so you can see the companies where several funds pile in on top of each other. It answers the question a fund fact-sheet never will: across everything I own, which stocks and sectors am I actually most exposed to?

How to use it

  1. Add each fund you own by searching its scheme name.
  2. Keep adding funds to build your full portfolio.
  3. Read the combined holdings list — stocks are ranked by their share of your total exposure.

How to read the results

The stocks at the top of the combined list are your real concentration. If a single company or sector sits well above the rest, that is where your portfolio is most exposed — often the result of the same index heavyweights repeating across funds. To reduce it, check how much two of your funds duplicate each other with the Fund Overlap Checker, or inspect a single fund’s make-up with the Scheme Compositiontool.

Frequently Asked Questions

A portfolio x-ray looks through every fund you own to the individual stocks underneath, then adds up how much of your total money sits in each company. Two or three funds can each hold a modest position in the same stock, but combined that stock may be your single largest bet — a concentration you cannot see by looking at any one fund in isolation.
Diversification is about companies, not about the number of funds. If four of your funds each keep 8% in the same bank, that bank is effectively a third of your equity — so its fortunes move your portfolio far more than you intended. An x-ray surfaces these overlaps so a single stock or sector cannot quietly dominate your returns.
Add each mutual fund you own by searching its name. The tool combines their latest disclosed holdings and shows your look-through exposure — every stock ranked by its share of your total portfolio, so the most concentrated positions rise to the top.
The x-ray weights each fund equally by default to show structural overlap. For a rupee-accurate view, size your funds to match your actual investment so a fund you hold heavily counts more toward the combined exposure.
